Am I dead? No, I guess not but my body sure is...

.

So I started the program on Friday.

First of all, I LOVE it. They do a great job of giving you a variety of exercises to keep things interesting. They do a nice gradual warm up before getting into the hard stuff and stretch and cool you down too - they dont rush through anything. Good thing too cause each session is anywhere from 55-90 min. There is a nice count down for the whole workout at the bottom of the screen and then another one for each exercise too. Tony is great because he gives you good tips throughout the workout, and not just ones for exercise, they are eating tips, etc. So it really feels like you have a "life" coach to get you in better health. The other people in the video are a good mix too; they have an extreme person who is like the best at whatever video you are doing, then they have someone in the middle and someone who is not as good at it. So then Tony goes around during the workout and points out all the variations and modifications if they are too hard for you, and he corrects people so you can see the "real life" mistakes that you would be making and how to correct the moves.

Second of all, ITS KICKING MY ASS. Oh my goodness, it is seriously for crazy people. But hey, desperate times call for desperate measures. And I have a very short amount of time to get into the best shape of my life before getting pregnant again. Although I am very sore and tired, I feel great. I feel energized (yes I know I am contradicting myself), and clean. Well part of that is just that Im showering more. Yes, TMI but get over it, you dont know me if you are surprised. I used to shower once a day, or every other day if I was lazy, but hey, if you dont do anything its no big deal. But when you are hard core working out, you have to shower as soon as you are done, no question. And the shower feels GREAT after a long workout. It doesnt feel like a chore like it used to.

I have not lost any weight yet, but of course its only been 4 days, so we will see.

It is really hard to fit it in. Friday I took the day off and I had Aurora. I waited till Ryan got home at 330 then did my work out, showered and we left to go visit Melinda & Nathan at Grandma's house. Then Saturday, I did it before going to Luke's 1st birthday party, Sunday I was able to work out in the morning while Aurora was taking her nap before we went to my Mom's house, yesterday I did it after I got home from work and Ryan watched Aurora and made dinner (thanks honey) and this morning I had to get up at 4:30am to do the workout since Ryan is going out for a beer tapping tonight. So you for sure have to plan for it and there are a million other things that you could be doing with that time, but whats more important than your health? So Ill just have to get used to working it in.

I am not being totally successful at the diet. The first phase, the fat shredder phase is a modified Adkins diet; mostly protein, with only a few servings total of dairy, fat and carbs per day. Its really hard to work that much lean protein in, and keep access to that food every 2-3 hours. So Im just doing the best I can and avoiding carbs. With the crazy workout schedule I will probably end up taking a rest day once a week or so, maybe going for a jog instead, so I dont expect I will get the same results as the example people in the program, or it will take me longer to get there. But hey, anything is an improvement. :0)

  1. Wow, I am so impressed by your commitment! I was wondering how in the world you squeezed in working out like that with a one year old AND a job, but now I see. I can't believe you are getting up at 4:30!! You are super woman!
